Updated on 3-21-2020: As per order of the Governor of Illinois, the library is now closed through April 7, 2020. We will be offering the last curbside service through 5:00 on Saturday, March 21st. Please keep all materials. No fines will accrue.

After much deliberation, Library administration and the Marengo Library Board of Trustees has made the difficult decision to close the Marengo-Union Library District building to the public for the safety of patrons and staff effective Tuesday, March 17.  Tentative reopen date is Monday, March 30. This closing is a precautionary measure, not due to any known exposure of COVID-19 at our Library.

During this period please keep any library materials until we reopen.  Due dates will be extended and we will waive any fines accrued during our closure.

While the library is closed, our online services will remain available for you to utilize. Please visit our website’s resources page for streaming and electronic materials.

The building will be open for voting purposes only, on Tuesday, March 17.

We will begin to provide curbside delivery service on Wednesday, March 18. Patrons can call during the hours posted below to request materials. You may also submit a materials request by sending an e-mail to circulation@muld.org or by completing the online “contact us” form on the website. When the items are ready for pick-up you will be notified and can pick them up during our curbside delivery hours:

  • Wednesday, March 18: 9-1:00 pm
  • Saturday, March 21: 12-5:00 pm

Thank you and stay safe,

Marengo-Union Library
