The Marengo-Union Library District

is open to the public beginning July 6th. Hours and services are limited to protect the health and safety of our patrons, staff, and community.

Reopening Guidelines:

The safety of patrons and staff is our number one priority.  These guidelines must be followed when using the Library.

• Patron temperatures will be taken by staff to ensure no fever. Anyone with a temperature of 100.4 or above will be asked to leave.
• Patrons are required to wear a mask over nose and mouth. If necessary, disposable masks will be provided.
• If a medical condition makes wearing a mask impossible, the Library will do its best to accommodate patrons with curbside services.
• Hand sanitizer must be used when entering the building.
• Occupancy will be limited to 10 patrons/families at a time.
• Visits will be limited to 30 minutes, if patrons are waiting.
• We ask that family groups stay together when in the building.
• Please place any materials that have been handled and are unwanted on designated carts to be quarantined.

Temporary New Hours:

Available Services:

• Computers available for business use only. Limited to 30 mins per day. Exceptions may be made.
• Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the building, and in parking lot after hours.
• Printing, photocopying, and faxing.
• Borrowed materials may be returned to East side book drop or in-house book return.
• Continued curbside services.
• Virtual programs and events.
• Interlibrary Loans.
• Downloadable ebooks and audiobooks and other digital library resources.

What’s Not Available:

• Study and meeting rooms will be closed.
• Book sale room will be closed.

What are we doing to keep you safe:

• While in the building, staff will be wearing personal protective equipment.
• We have shortened hours to allow time for enhanced cleaning.
• Library materials will be quarantined for at least 7 days before being returned to circulation.
• Plexiglas shields have been placed at public service points.
• Seating within the library, as well as the number of computer stations will be reduced and separated to promote social distancing.
• Staff experiencing Covid-19 related symptoms will be required to stay home.
