Loan Periods:
- 21 days for Books, Music CDs and Audiobooks
- 14 days for Magazines, New Adult Fiction Books, and Video Games
- 7 days for Library of Things, DVDs and Blu-rays
Loan Limits:
- 40 total items
- Limit 15 for DVDs and Blu-rays
- Limit 10 for Audiobooks & Music CDs
- Limit 5 Library of Things, New Adult Fiction Books, Magazines, and Video Games
Fines:
- Marengo-Union Library no longer charges fines for most items.
- Exceptions include New Books, Hot Spots and other Library of Things.
- Items checked out from other libraries through PrairieCat will continue to accrue fines based on the borrowing library’s fine policy.
- Due dates will still be in effect for all MULD items, and if an item isn’t returned after three weeks of being overdue your Library card will be blocked and you will be billed for the item.
- The Library accepts cash and check payments. Fines or fees may be paid online through the Library catalog. You will need to login to your account.
- Lost Library Card: $2 replacement fee
- Lost and damaged items: Cost of replacement item plus $5 processing fee.
The Library can only accept cash and check payment at this time.

Still can’t find what you’re looking for? Request books, DVDs, or other items from other libraries through Interlibrary Loan. Requests can be made in person, by phone, or using our online system.
The Library has eleven computers available for public use. Children between the ages of 9-18 need a parent or legal guardian to sign a permission form before they can use the public computers.
We offer:

- Printing – color ($1 per page); black & white ($0.10 per page)
Please note our computers automatically shut down 15 minutes before closing time. We cannot override this feature, so please be sure to save your work in a timely manner! Computer time is two hours a day per card. Youth computers have a one hour time limit.
If you aren’t a resident of our district but would like to access our computers, computer guest passes are available for purchase for $1.
The Library offers WiFi access for any WiFi-enabled device. Simply connect to MULD-Public WiFi and agree to our terms of use. You can also check out a Mobile WiFi Hot Spot from the circulation desk. A mobile hotspot can deliver a strong, fast and secure online connection just about wherever you go.
Photocopies can be made on our public copier for $0.10 per page in black & white, and $1 per page for print copies.
Scanning documents to a flash drive is available for $0.10 per page.
Library staff can send or receive a fax for $0.50 per page.
Please Note: Fax services run open to 30mins before closing. Please allow yourself at least 30 mins for faxing services due to lengthy faxing times.
We have a Homebound Delivery program for our patrons who are physically unable to visit the Library. Qualifying patrons may request the delivery and pick-up of library materials. If you or anyone you know might be interested in participating in this program, please call the Library and ask for Sondra Terry or fill out a Homebound Delivery Interest Request.
The Meeting Room and three study rooms are available for public use at no charge. Call the Library for availability and limitations. Please read the Meeting Room Policy then, fill out and return a Meeting Room Reservation Form.
Do you have a fun, interesting or historical collection you’d love to share with Library visitors? Do you collect PEZ dispensers or Doctor Who memorabilia or World War II artifacts? We’ve got a display case space for that! The Library is starting a new program where community members can display their own personal collectibles at the Library for others to see and enjoy. We’d love to see all the fun things our patrons collect!
