Supply List:
- Milk
- Medium sized bowl
- Dish soap
- Food coloring
- Baking soda
- Vinegar
- Toothpick and/or Q-tip
- Cookie cutter shape of choice (optional)
Recommend using a baking pan or something big/deep enough to help catch spills or do this experiment.
Notice how adding vinegar to milk makes the milk curdle after adding some vinegar to milk. This is related to the acid in vinegar reacting to the fat in milk.
Try adding some food coloring to the milk and vinegar mixture so that you see a rainbow effect for the next part of our experiment. Now add some baking soda to your mixture. Does the baking soda and the vinegar that form a reaction that causes the milk start foaming up, almost like lava in a volcano?
